A message from the Old Westbury Police Department

Police activity last night in Old Westbury.

At 12:21 am the Old Westbury Police Department received a call requesting assistance from the Suffolk County Police Department with a police pursuit for a robbery suspect. The vehicle being pursued crashed off the roadway at the intersection of Guinea Woods Road and the Northern State Parkway exit ramp, in Old Westbury. The subject fled the scene on foot.  Multiple police officers including K-9 units and aviation units quickly responded to the area, set up a perimeter and began to search for the subject.  The Old Westbury Police received two separate calls from alert residents, who stated a male with no shirt on was knocking at their front door.   Old Westbury Police Officers responded to the area of those calls, where the subject was observed by officers and taken into custody. The subject was transported to the hospital for minor injuries from the crash and then turned over to the Suffolk County Police Department.  There are no other subjects involved and no threat to the Old Westbury Community.
